Dr. Razzak is a Professor of Emergency Medicine and Population Health at Weill Cornell Medicine and serves as founding Vice Chair of Research in the Department of Emergency Medicine. He also serves as the founding director for the Center of Excellence on Trauma and Emergencies, which was established at the Aga Khan University as a joint project with Weill Cornell. Before his current role, Dr. Razzak was the founding Director of the Center for Global Emergency Care and Professor of Emergency Medicine at Johns Hopkins University. In addition, he has served as the Director of the World Health Organization Collaborating Center for Emergency Medicine and Trauma and the chair of NIH’s Collaborative on Enhancing Emergency Care Research in LMICs (CLEER). He spent ten years in Pakistan and helped establish the field of Emergency Medicine, serving as the inaugural Dean of EM and inaugural CEO of the country’s first advanced life support EMS system. Dr. Razzak’s research has focused on the intersection of emergency care, technology, and public health in low-resource settings. He has received numerous awards for his contribution, including the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award by the Global Emergency Medicine Academy, the Award for Outstanding Contribution by the International Section of the American College of Emergency Physicians, and the Mentorship and Teaching Awards by emergency medicine residents at Johns Hopkins.
